Just a place to keep my skins and wodgets that I create in my never ending quest to change my PC so no one else can use it..

I've spent the last couple of weeks working with the support folks at Raxco trying to determine why my disk defragmenter (PerfectDisk 7.0) crashes whenever it is scheduled to run an offline defragmentation. After I sent a crash log to them they replied and said it was wblind.dll that was causing the problem with their application. I was able to work around it by excluding the particular executable from withing WB but it seems odd that I would have to do that for one executable but not the main program executable. The program doesn't seem to use custom windows or anything else so I'm not sure what the problem is but I thought someone might want to take a look just in case. BTW, I'm using the latest beta of WB5.

I also use Perfect Disk 7.0 and have a couple of "Offline Defrags" but without any problems whatsoever. I'm curious to hear what further investigation reveals about your particular problem, just in case I run into this too at some future date.

Man, I hate these double-posts/replies.

I bet they just saw a dll they didn't know and accused it. A case of guilty before proven innocent.

well, I can cause it to happen on a clean install of windows with only PerfectDisk and WB installed. I didn't just blindly listen to what they claimed the problem was, and if the problem is not WB in this case then why does excluding the PDSched.exe file from WB's skinning fix the problem? I wonder if it's some strange problem caused partially by the fact that I'm using a dual-core processor..

If anyone from Stardock support would like to look at the dump files I sent to Raxco just let me know as I have them and can send them in.

And this happened with the current build of WB on OD?

Please send any info you have on the bug to neil@stardock.com

ok, I'll send you the transcript of the conversations I had with Raxco. As far as version, it was the version before the currently available build, but I'm guessing you'll see that in the dump files.

Is there any progress on resolving this problem. It has affected me also because I use the PerfectDisk 7 scheduler. Thank you.

This is no longer a problem as far as we are aware as it was resolved in one of the WB 5 betas before release.

Upgrade to version 7.00.046

Will retest then to make sure. I have latest build of both programs I think but I may try to go through Stardock Central now. Is there a newer build than the first one that was released for WB5? Thanks.
